Reggio Emilia Oncohematologic Center
The Reggio Emilia Oncohematologic Center is the innovative structure, which will house patients with any kind of oncologic disease. It will be launched on may, the 28th, 2016.
In 2009, GRADE FOUNDATION took on a formal task: to collect more than 2 million euro to allocate for Santa Maria Nuova Hospital to support the project. The fund-raising was possible thanks to the support of dozens of volunteers and of the whole community. They have animated many initiatives launched by the Foundation.
Dr. Paolo Avanzini, the president of the Grade Foundation and director of Hematology out-patient service, said: “To allocate more than 2 million euro is a huge task for an ONLUS, a charity. But our determination arises from our willingness to give the patients more and more, into the fields of research, services and assistance. The goal of GRADE is to improve the treatment possibilities. Today, our hematology ward is a medical center of excellence, in which we always combine the complexity of pathology with the attention to the patient. GRADE FOUNDATION has had a decisive role in this treatment. Many energies have been focused on CORE. It will represent a great step forward into the fight against the oncologic diseases”.
